Do I need a consultation?

In many cases a consultation is not required. Although significantly large pieces; sleeves; back pieces, etc. do require advance planning and a meeting with a client; to determine their likes and dislikes and personal style. This aids in the creation of the design. You should bring any and all reference material to the consultation. If you are traveling from far than most work if not all can be done via email.

Small tattoos can either be done on the spot or via e-mail, is easiest. A consultation is no required for a small tattoo.

What information should you provide for a consultation or a price quote?

Body Placement (a few options if available), size, color or gray-scale; subject matter and reference material if available.

This is one of my resent tattoos, a full color caricature portrait!!

This is an ongoing sleeve of places that this customer has traveled throughout is life; this represents his visit to Graceland.

This was done is 2 passes / sittings, which helps to create the blended and vibrant colors.

Feminine Tattoos

Today I thought I would show off a few feminine tattoos, to remind all of you ladies that tattoos can still look feminine and girly and still can be large! This is a tattoo for this customers children, names look great in banners and the swirls just finish it off.

This is a large fairy tattoo on a foot. It is a great size for the foot as I could still get all of the details into the tattoo that the customer was looking for.

When planning your tattoo keep in mind there is always a way to make it a little more feminine if that is what you are looking for.

What should I look for when choosing an artist?

When choosing an artist you should first find someone who creates art/tattoos that you like. This means that they can take your idea and make it into something that you will love. You will need to look through several online galleries and / or portfolios.

It will also help if you feel comfortable with your artist. You must trust them 100% as they are going to use all of their experience to create a permanent masterpiece on your skin. It is worth a little research time and patience to find the right artist. Shopping for price will most likely not get you a quality tattoo that you love. Read, search, and educate yourself.
